What Customers Say About Braun MX2050 PowerMax 525-Watt 58-Ounce Jug Blender:

I've never had a blender die on me before--all of the others I tried worked for years, I just gave them away in the end (and one I even sold on craigslist).Huge disappointment. All I was blending was some sauce, not anything chunky or thick at all.I will attempt to contact Braun customer service, but it doesn't sound like much is going to come of that, esp.

Everything came out so smooth, no random chunks that get missed by the blade (which has been my problem with several MUCH more expensive blenders I have purchased, including a Kitchen Aid). I bought this at the urgings of Cooks Illustrated mainly b/c they are usually so dead on with their reviews.

I'm only giving this blender 2 stars because when it did work it worked incredibly well. Sounds like the same problem others have had--during normal use it seemed like the blade wasn't catching, then the motor started smoking and burned out.

And they were with this one.except for its short life. And many other people seem to be having the same problem.I received this blender as a holiday gift in December 2007 and it is now less than two years old and it died.

since it's probably past the warranty period and it sounds like this problem is not even reparable from what others have said. :(

I don't even know if my year is up yet, but now it won't go on--no noise whatever. I did my research and chose this blender. Pathetic. I wanted to be able to blend ice, etc. I used it a few times and it worked fine. My old blenders lasted longer than I wanted to keep using them. They became out of fashion.

CR rated this one highly so we went with it. It worked great at first but wore out after a year, even with light usage. I was disappointed.

I ignored the reviews that warned of early mortality because I figured that my intended use would be relatively easy -- just the occasional smoothie, not grinding ice cubes, for example. The motor burned out the second time I used it.

I saw the nuts were burning. I used it solely for grinding nuts into nut butters. I give it two stars because I had about three years where I liked it very well. Fortunetely, there was no smoke or fire. All of a sudden, I put in some cashew nuts, and I noticed a funny smell. It wasn't working well either. It was no longer usable, so I just threw the unit in the trash.I'm still looking for something that is glass and made somewhere besides China. I may give a different Oster model a try.
